Zenit Saint Petersburg maintains EuroLeague top four push

Zenit Saint Petersburg maintained a top four push in the EuroLeague, following its 85-78 win over Anadolu Efes at home.

The Russians led from start to finish and managed to extend their home winning streak to four games.

Zenit led by as many as 23 in the contest, whereas Efes couldn’t come closer than five points and lost the game.

The hosts secured their fifth EuroLeague win in the last six games and now have a 13-6 record.

On the contrary, Anadolu Efes dropped to 11-10, however they still are in the playoffs race.

Armani Milano made an excellent performance on both ends of the floor and crushed Bayern Munich at home (75-51).

The Italians dominated the Bavarians and handed their opponents the biggest loss of the season.

Armani now is on a four-game winning streak, improving to 13-7 and climbing to fourth in the EuroLeague standings.

On the contrary, Bayern dropped to 12-9, good for sixth on the table.

Tyler Dorsey had a career night in the EuroLeague and helped Maccabi Tel-Aviv edge Real Madrid at home (86-84).

Dorsey went for a career-high 30 points and led the Israelis past the “Whites” in a late thriller.

Maccabi kept its chances alive in the EuroLeague playoffs race with a 10-11 record.

For their part, Real dropped to 13-8 and now is on a two-game losing streak.

ASVEL Villeurbanne bounced bak from the OT loss to Olympiacos earlier in the week and rallied past Valencia (90-77).

The French led for the majority of the first half, but saw the Spaniards come back late in the game.

However, they stood tall, extended their lead to 19 points and never looked back.

Thanks to this win, ASVEL improved to 7-14 on the EuroLeague table, whereas Valencia suffered a painful road loss in the playoffs battle (11-10).

In Athens, Panathinaikos cruised to an easy win over Khimki (94-78), the third in the last four home games.

This was also the first EuroLeague win for the “Greens” under new head coach Oded Kattash.

Panathinaikos improved to 7-13, yet they still are four wins behind the playoff zone.

On the other hand, Khimki remained on the bottom of the table (2-19), with its 12 straight EuroLeague loss.
