UTE wins Ecuador National League
Universidad Technologico Quito (UTE) won the final series of the National League and were crowned champions of Ecuador Basketball. UTE overcame ComuniKT 85-73 to take the finals series 4-2 and win its first ever National League success. It was a fitting finale to the season as UTE had dominated the campaign, ending the Regular Season top of the standings with a 17-3 record.

The Coliseum was full of fans from both clubs for this encounter, with UTE knowing a win here would hand them a title, while ComuniKT were looking to tie the series. With that target in mind ComuniKT started quickly and were in control early in the game and raced into a 23-10 lead through the opening 10 minutes. They continued to press home their advantage in the second stanza and by halftime looked to be cruising with a 47-35 lead. UTE had other plans though as they stormed back into the game during the third frame, tying at 55 apiece before carving a 59-63 lead heading into the final act. The 12-28 charge by the visitors had turned the game and they saw out the title winning performance in the fourth quarter.
