Olympiacos rallies past Panathinaikos in first Greek Clasico of the EuroLeague season

Olympiacos led from start to finish and rallied past Panathinaikos in the first Greek Clasico of the EuroLeague season (71-78).

The “Reds” took over from the opening tip and never looked back. As a result, they were in front by 15 multiple times during the game and sealed the deal.

The “Greens” tried to turn things around, but never came closer than four points.

Giorgos Printezis posted 17 points in 20 minutes, as Shaquielle McKissic was the only other Olympiacos player in double figures with 10.

Two players of Panathinaikos scored in double figures. More specifically, Marcus Foster had 15 points and Ioannis Papapetrou scored 14.

Both teams now have identical records (1-1).

Armani Milano recorded its second straight victory in the EuroLeague after dominating ASVEL Villeurbanne at home (87-73).

Shavon Shields led the winners with 17 points, while Sergio Rodriguez added 13. Zach LeDay and Riccardo Moraschini each had 10 for the hosts.

Amine Noua had 12 for the French team ASVEL, while Norris Cole and Moustapha Fall both scored 10.

Milan led by five at halftime (45-40), but extended their advantage to double digits in the second half (73-59) and never looked back.

The Italians remained undefeated in the EuroLeague (2-0), whereas ASVEL is still winless (0-2).

Bayern Munich crushed ALBA Berlin on the road in the German derby (72-90).

A 9-31 run in the second quarter was enough for the Bavarians to take control of the game and cruised to the victory, as ALBA never recovered after that.

Nick Weiler-Babb had 15 points and four assists for the visitors. Three more players scored in double figures for the winners.

Marcus Eriksson (15 points) and Jayson Granger (10, along with six assists) were the best players of the hosts.

Bayern improved to 1-1 in the EuroLeague. Meanwhile, ALBA is still looking for its first EuroLeague win (0-2).

Crvena Zvezda decimated Baskonia and earned its first EuroLeague win (90-73).

Following a hard-fought battle in the first half, the Serbians scored the first eight points of the third quarter and took over.

After that, the Basques never came back and suffered a heavy defeat in Belgrade.

Jordan Loyd had a career-high 30 points for the winners (5/8 from beyond the arc), whereas Rokas Giedraitis posted a personal best 26 for Baskonia.

Both teams now have identical records in the EuroLeague (1-1).

In a thriller that went down to the final minute, Zenit St Petersburg edged Barcelona at home and earned its second straight victory in the EuroLeague (74-70).

Billy Baron and Alex Poythress led the winners with 16 points apiece. Kevin Pangos added 15, KC Rivers had 11 and Will Thomas 10 for Zenit. On the other hand, Nikola Mirotic scored 14 for Barcelona.

Barcelona led by five late in the game (63-68), but Zenit closed the game on an 11-2 run to seal the deal.

The Russians are unbeaten in the EuroLeague (2-0), whereas the Catalans suffered their first loss (1-1).

In the final game of the second round in the EuroLeague, Zalgiris Kaunas dominated Khimki in Moscow (70-84).

The Lithuanians hit 13 three-pointers and cruised to an easy victory, remaining unbeaten in the competition.

Khimki made a better start to the game and led by nine. Yet, the vistors went on a 6-24 run in the second quarter and took control.

Furthermore, they started the third quarter on a 4-17 run and retained their double-digit lead.

The hosts never recovered after that. They only managed to cut the deficit from 21 points to seven midway through the fourth quarter. Zalgiris were unstoppable from beyond the arc, though, and sealed the deal.

Four players scored in double figures for the winners, with Marius Grigonis having a team-high 21.

For Khimki, Jerebko finished with 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Devin Booker added 14.

Zalgiris claimed its second straight road win in the EuroLeague and now has a 2-0 record for the first time in eight years.

On the other hand, Khimki, with only eight players available due to injury and coronavirus cases, dropped to 0-2.
