Luca Vildoza finalizes deal with Knicks

Luca Vildoza and the New York Knicks have reach an agreement on a four-year deal, and the Argentine guard is on the verge of joining the NBA club.

Vildoza could make his NBA debut this weekend, according to the New York Post.

The 6-foot-3 guard leaves the Spanish Liga Endessa to embark on his new challenge with the Knicks. The 25-year-old played four seasons for Baskonia, including 27 games in league play in 2020-21.

Luca Vildoza averaged 10.9 points and 3.7 assists this season in the Spanish League.

Referencing Spanish media reports, the New York Post said the Knicks could shell out up to $2 million to secure Vildoza’s buyout from Baskonia.

Vildoza’s new NBA contract is reportedly worth $13.6 million, according to ESPN.

Luca Vildoza exhibited his scoring and playmaking skills throughout his tenure with Baskonia, including a 17-point, five-assist effort on Jan. 17 over Real Betis.

“He’s tough, hard-nosed,” an NBA scout told the New York Post. “He’s an excellent passer, shooter and was consistent in Baskonia. He has a good feel for the game.”
