K.C. Rivers (196 cm, Clemson’09) has agreed to terms on a 2-year deal that sends him to Panathinaikos Athens (Greece-A1) for the 2016-17 season and beyond. Rivers is a 29-year-old American player who also holds a passport from Guinea-Bissau. He played for two of Europe’s top teams in 2015-16. Rivers began the season on the roster of FC Bayern Muenchen (Germany-BBL). He played 10 games for them in the Euroleague and averaged 10.8 ppg and 2.3 rpg. K.C. also logged 13 games in the German league and there he was able to record averages of 15.0 ppg and 3.4 rpg.
In December 2015 he linked up with Spanish juggernaut Real Madrid (Spain-Liga Endesa). In 17 Euroleague games Rivers produced averages of 6.7 ppg and 1.5 rpg. He also played 10 games in the Spanish and averaged 8.7 ppg and 2.7 rpg.
