Jeleel Akindele pens with Fuerza Regia

Jeleel Akindele Jeleel Akindele (216 cm, Chicago State’05) will be suiting up for Fuerza Regia Monterrey (Mexico-LNBP) this 2016-17 season. “Deji” is a Nigerian international player who is coming off a successful campaign playing for the Vaqueros de Bayamon (Puerto Rico-BSN) in 2016. He played 52 games for them and produced averages of 14.7 ppg and 8.8 rpg. They finished atop of the league standings at the end of the regular season and made all the way to the finals in the post-season.

In 2015-16 Jeleel played two games for Yesilgiresun Belediye (Turkey-BSL), where he started the 2015-16 season. His two games were solid. Akindele averaged a double-double with 13 ppg and 11 rpg. He later moved to Petrochimi Bandar Imam Harbor (Iran-Superleague) in December 2015. He logged a dozen games for them and posted averages of 3.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg.
