Spanish juggernaut Real Madrid (Liga Endesa) has landed the services of Mexican big man Gustavo Ayon for the 2014-15 season. Ayon has been a member of the Mexican national team from 2007 up to the present. In fact, he was a member of the Mexican contingent that recently reached the Round of 16 in the FIBA World Cup. They lost to the US and were eliminated from the competition. In 2013-14 Gustavo played in the NBA for the Atlanta Hawks and was able to average 4.3 ppg and 4.8 rpg in 26 games. Unfortunately, Ayon was injured in February and was unable to rejoin the team for the rest of the season.
