Jordanian player Zaid Abbas, a veteran of Chinese basketball will be joining the Tianjin Steel this 2013-14 season. Abbas played the 2012-13 season with the Shandong Flaming Bulls (China-CBA). He logged 39 games for them and was dominant on both ends of the court, posting averages of 17.9 ppg, 11.4 rpg and 2.1 spg. Zaid took his team all the way to the CBA finals in 2013.

In 2011-12 Abbas played for the Fujian SBS XunXin (China-CBA). In 31 games he netted averages of 16.8 ppg and 14.5 rpg.
