Zabian Dowdell added by Lietuvos Rytas

Former Phoenix Suns guard Zabian Dowdell (191 cm, Virginia Tech’07) has been added to the roster of Lithuanian powerhouse Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius for the 2013-14 season. In 2012-13 the 26-year-old Dowdell played for Russian team Enisey Krasnoyarsk (PBL). He represented the club in 18 games in the VTB United League and posted averages of 13.4 ppg and 3.5 apg. He also logged 13 games in the Russian PBL and there he averaged 10.5 ppg and 3.9 apg.

Lietuvos Rytas did not fare too well in the Euroleague and are at the bottom of Group D, one of the tougher groups in the competition, with a record of 1-6. Dowdell is being added to strengthen the team’s backcourt and could be there to back up Omar-Sharif Cook.
