Will Clyburn, CSKA Moscow stun Fenerbahce in EuroLeague classic

Will Clyburn and CSKA Moscow stunned Fenerbahce in Istanbul in another classic game between the two EuroLeague powerhouses.

Clyburn saved the Muscovites twice, both in regulation and in overtime. The American forward first hit the three-pointer that sent the game into the extra period (69-69).

In overtime, Clyburn made the go-ahead layup-plus-the-foul that allowed CSKA to win the game (77-78).

Overall, it was a late thriller at Ulker Sports Arena that was decided in the final seconds, with the visitors escaping with a big victory.

Aside from Clyburn, who led the way with 26 points, Mike James had 14 points and six assists.

On the other hand, four players scored in double figures for the Turks. Nando De Colo had a team-high 21, but got ejected with two technical fouls.

Both teams now have identical records in the EuroLeague (2-1).

Olympiacos turned things around in the second half and handed Armani Milano the first loss of the season (86-75).

The “Reds” used a 27-16 run in the third quarter and cruised to the win. This was the ninth victory for Olympiacos in the last 11 home games against the Italians in the EuroLeague.

Kostas Sloukas posted his first double-double of the season, with 17 points and 11 assists. Three more players scored in double figures for the winners.

Sergio Rodriguez and Michael Roll were the best players of the losing squad, with 18 and 16 points, respectively.

Both teams now have a 2-1 record in the EuroLeague.

Vladimir Lucic scored a career-high 26 points and Bayern Munich survived a late thriller against Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Israel (82-85).

The Bavarians claimed their second straight road win and first-ever EuroLeague victory in Tel Aviv.

Bayern improved to 2-1, while Maccabi lost for the second time in the first three EuroLeague games (1-2).

Scottie Wilbekin (27 points, seven assists) and Ante Zizic (19 points and six rebounds) stood out for the Israelis.

Sergio Llull and Real Madrid rallied past Khimki at home (94-85) and earned their first win in the 2020/21 EuroLeague.

Llull had 21 points (7/9 shooting) for the winners, while Nicolas Laprovittola added 19 (on 5/7 from beyond the arc).

Devin Booker led Khimki in scoring with 22 points, while Vyacheslav Zaytsev posted 21 and nine assists.

A 45-32 run between the second and third quarter was enough for the “Whites” to take a double-digit lead (70-57) and never look back.

The Russians never recovered after that and suffered their third straight EuroLeague loss (0-3).

On the other hand, Real Madrid improved to 1-2 in the EuroLeague.

Khimki had only eight players available, due to several issues with injuries and the coronavirus.

Baskonia earned the 20-0 victory over Zenit Saint Petersburg. The Russians were forced to forfeit the game, due to multiple positive coronavirus cases.
