Alba’s Vule Avdalovic out for the season

After making it to the Top 16 for the first time in four seasons, bad news came over Alba Berlin on Friday when it was confirmed by the club that point guard Vule Avdalovic will have to miss the rest of the season due to a rupture in the inner ligaments of his left knee. Avdalovic got injured during a Regular Season game against Unicaja Malaga which Alba lost, 63-74. After the game, medical tests in Berlin confirmed that the player had hurt his knee ligaments in one of the worst injuries a player can have. The recovery time for this kind of injury is about six months, which means the season is probably over for Avdalovic, who had averaged 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists per night in over 9 games with Alba this season, helping put the team into the Top 16 from Group B.

Before the start of the season, Alba also lost Nathan Peavy long term due to a similar injury.
