Von Wafer to join Indios de Mayaguez

Former NBA guard Von Wafer (196 cm, Florida State’05) is slated to join the Indios de Mayaguez from Puerto Rico some time this April. Wafer is currently playing for Russian club Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd, which he signed with this February 2014. He has managed to play in three games for them in the VTB United League and averaged 23.7 ppg and 4.0 apg. Von moved to the Krasny Oktyabr after a five-game stint in the NBA D-League for the Bakersfield Jam. During his run with the Jam Wafer averaged 14.6 ppg and 2.6 apg.

Wafer began the 2013-14 season playing in China’s CBA for the Shanghai Dongfang Sharks. He had a productive run with the Sharks and delivered averages of 27.0 ppg and 3.4 apg.
