US wins U18 FIBA Americans Championship over Brazil

The United States won the U18 FIBA Americas Women Championships on Sunday with a sound victory over Brazil 71-47. Brazil jumped out to a 16-7 advantage during the first quarter, but the Americans regrouped and had built a 29-24 margin at the half. They outscored Brazil 21-7 in the 3rd quarter to stretch the advantage to 50-31 and wrapped up the title by winning the fourth quarter 21-16. Morgan Tuck paced the US with 15 points and 11 rebounds, Michaela Mabrey added 14 points, Tournament MVP Breanna Stewart scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Bashaara Graves contributed 10 points. Isabela Macedo led Brazil with 18 points.
