Tyren Johnson joins Kyoto Hannaryz

Tyren Johnson

Tyren Johnson (202 cm, Univeristy of Louisiana’10) is now a member of the Kyoto Hannaryz (Japan-BJ League) this 2015. He moved there from Usak Sportlif (Turkey-BSL), where he was originally set to play the 2015-16 season. Tyren has already made his debut for his new team. He had an impressive first game, filling up the stat sheet with 24 points, six rebounds, five assists, three blocks and four steals. Unfortunately, his performance was not enough to carry his team to victory. They fell to Akita at home, 76-80.

Johnson spent his 2014-15 season playing for Okapi Aalstar (Belgium-Scooore League). He played 34 games in the Belgian league and averaged 12.8 ppg and 5.2 rpg. He also played nine games in the EuroChallenge and there he posted averages of 14.7 ppg and 6.1 rpg.
