Taquan Dean (1.93m, college: Louisville) has been released by Aliaga Petkim (Turkey-TBL) after only one game due to an injury to his wrist. Dean scored 9 points and snagged seven rebounds in that one court appearance and now says via Twitter that he’s heading back to his native New Jersey to rehab. Dean’s career has been riddled with injuries, the most serious was during his senior year at Louisville when he had to sit most of he season. He was thought to have been a lock to get drafted in the NBA after his Junior year in which he was stellar and his club make it to the NCAA Final Four before getting knocked out by Illinois, but decided to forgo the draft and play out his collegiate eligibility. Due to the injury, NBA interest diminished and he went undrafted. Since, he’s played on a number of teams in Europe and played for the Phoenix Suns summer league team in 2008.
