Ronald Burrell leaves Oldenburg

Ronald Burrell (204 cm, NC-Greensboro’05) has left German BBL team EWE Baskets Oldenburg after two seasons with the team and won’t return for a third season. The forward played 44 BBL games this season for Oldenburg and averaged 9.6ppg and 4.3rpg, while in 15 EuroChallenge games he logged numbers of 8.2ppg and 4.0rpg. A statement released by Oldenburg suggests that the team was not happy with Burrell’s performances during the 2012/2013 season, although the club thanked the American for his services.

“We thank Ronnie Burrell. He experienced two totally different seasons. But we could always count on him. I hope he finds a new team fast,” the statement read.

Indeed, Ronald Burrell’s stats have dropped off from last season this year. In the 2011/2012 campaign the 29-year old played 29 BBL game and averaged 12.4ppg, 5.4rpg, and 1.2apg.
