Rodney Carney heads to Al Riyadi

Rodney Carney (201 cm, Memphis’06) has booked another run in Asia after agreeing to terms with Lebanese club Sporting Al Riyadi Beirut. The 29-year-old former NBA forward is coming off a three-game run in the Liga Americas tournament where he played for Capitanes de Arecibo (Puerto Rico-BSN). Carney averaged 15.7 ppg and 4.3 rpg during that stint.

He kicked off 2012-13 on the roster of the Miami Heat, but was not signed by the team beyond the preseason. In January 2013 he signed with Turkish team Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye (TBL). In 10 games in the Turkish league he averaged 16.6 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
