Leicester Riders have signed Spanish guard Jorge Calvo, as they strengthen their back court for the new season.
Calvo is a 6 foot 3 inch, 24 year old ball handler from the University of Leon, who played with Baloncesto León S.A.D., in the LEB Gold League in Spain, which is just below the ACB, the top League in Spain, and recognized as the top basketball League in the world outside the NBA.

Rider’s Head Coach Rob Paternostro said “Jorge is a talented young player with good size and athletic ability.”
“He has shown the ability to play both guard positions and is a player that we are looking forward to working with. We feel his versatility is something that can be very valuable to our club.”
“He is excited about the challenge of playing and living in the UK, I was very impressed with him when we spoke, and believe he has a lot of potential “.
“You never know where the recruiting process will take you, and I have been using contacts from all over the world to find players, and that’s what brought us to Jorge”.
