Ricky Minard leaves SAIE3 Bologna

Ricky Minard (196 cm, Morehead State’04) announced via Twitter that he is leaving SAIE3 Bologna from Italy’s Serie A and bid his teammates goodbye. The team also confirmed his departure on Twitter as well. Minard played 15 games for SAIE3 Bologna and averaged 10.4 ppg and 3.7 rpg. Word is that he is on his way to Turkey to sign with Besiktas Istanbul.

Minard played the 2011-12 season for Novipiu Casale Monferrato from Italy’s Lega2 before joining Bologna. He signed with Novipiu Casale in February 2012 and played 12 games for them. In those 12 games the 31-year-old averaged 12.4 ppg and 3.5 rpg. He moved to Italy mid-season after a stint playing for Azovmash Mariupol from Ukraine’s Superleague.
