Rick Rickert joins Wakayama Trians

Rick Rickert (211 cm, Minnesota’03) is making his way back to Japan this 2013-14 season via a deal to play for the Wakayama Trians (NBL). The big man is coming off a six-game run with the Wellington Exodus Saints (New Zealand-NBL) where he averaged 18.0 ppg and 12.5 rpg. He helped the team reach as far as the semifinals in the New Zealand NBL in 2013.

Before Rickert headed to play in the Kiwi league he began the 2012-13 season playing in Japan’s BJ league for Osaka Evessa. In 49 games in the BJ league Rick averaged a double-double with 12.5 ppg and 10.7 rpg.
