Williams extends deal with Vechta

American Richard Williams (178 cm, San Diego State’09) has penned a new deal with German BBL new boys SC Rasta Vechta. The team gained promotion to the Bundesliga from the ProA this season and have already secured point guard Williams to the roster for the 2013/2014 campaign. During the season with Vechta the 25-year old managed to log averages of 15.6 points, 6.7 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 steals from 38 games.

It will be the third consecutive season in German Basketball for Richard Williams after he also previously played with UBC Hannover Tigers. The player took to the SC Rasta Vechta official website to say his reasons for inking a new deal with the team.

“One of my number one reasons I came back is to play with Pat Elzie (Vechta head coach). Easily one of the best coaches I have played for”, Williams said.
