Los Blancos looked lively as the dismantled Valencia 75-94 on the road. The victory came because of a strong offensive display from the starting five, who collectively provided 59 of Madrid’s points.
The visitors started in fine fashions, draining 23 points in the first quarter for a solid six point cushion through the first buzzer. Valencia had struggled to keep pace in the opening ten, but the hosts looked more dynamic in the second frame. However, Real Madrid kept consistent at the bucket and the teams traded for 19-19 through halftime. Heading into the locker room for the long break, Los Blancos led 36-42.
The momentum blew into Madrid’s sails in the third act and pushed the team to victory. The guests were hot throught the nets in the third and plundered an impressive 34 points in a game defining run. Valencia only replied with 18 points and was losing 54-76 through thirty minutes. Real Madrid took the foot of the gas in the fourth quarter, allowing the hosts to edge the frame, but not get close to changing the result.
Sergio Llull scored 19 points in the win, while Rudy Fernandez added 17 points and Gustavo Ayon 12 points.
Luke Sikma, Romain Sato, and Will Thomas all collected 12 points apiece in Valencia’s losing effort.
