Former NBA swingman Rashad McCants (193 cm, North Carolina’05) is the latest import to be added by Brazilian team Unitri/Universo Uberlandia (NBB). He is coming in as a replacement for Robby Collum (185 cm, Western Michigan’03), who is now playing in Uruguay. McCants was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round, 14th overall, during the 2005 NBA Draft.
Rashad began the 2012-13 season with Strasbourg IG (France-ProA), but only until the pre-season. In November 2012 he signed with the Foshan Long Lions from China’s CBA. McCants played 17 games in the Chinese league and averaged 19.8 ppg and 3.9 rpg. In January 2013, he went back to the USA to play in the D-League for the Frisco Texas Legends. Rashad managed to play four games for them before leaving the team in February 2013. In those four games, McCants averaged 19.8 ppg and 3.5 rpg.
