Prometey Kamianske is the new Ukrainian champion. They beat Zaporizhye yesterday with 88-83 and swept the best of three final series.
It is a historical event since It is the first title ever for Prometey. More noteworthy is the fact that the club was founded only three years ago, and this is only the second season that they have participated in the Superleague.
Interestingly enough, in this year’s Ukrainian championship, the two highest-ranked teams, BC Kyiv and Dnipro, both lost in the play-off semi-finals.
Prometey was third in the standings after the regular season with a 27-13 record.
