Plaza names Zalgiris new head coach

Zalgiris Kaunas named Joan Plaza as its new head coach. Plaza, age 48, arrives from Banca Civica Sevilla, which he has coached for the past three seasons. Plaza led the team to its first Spanish League playoffs appearance in 10 years in the 2009-10 season. He did even better in 2010-11 by taking the then-called Cajasol Sevilla all the way to the Eurocup title game.
