The Chicago Bulls have parted ways with veteran Turkish big man Omer Asik (213 cm), making him a free agent. The Bulls have invested in a young rookie center in Wendell Carter Jr. The team is rebuilding and focusing on its young core of players in Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and Lauri Makkanen. Asik, who is 32-years-old did not fare to be included in those rebuilding plans. The team still has Robin Lopez who has now served as backup to Carter in the rotation.
Asik signed with the Bulls in April 2018. He ended up playing four games for them and recorded averages of 1.0 ppg and 2.5 rpg.
