Olympiacos edges Crvena Zvezda in Vassilis Spanoulis’ historic EuroLeague night
Olympiacos survived a late thriller against Crvena Zvezda (79-81), in a game where captain Vassilis Spanoulis reached another EuroLeague milestone.
Spanoulis, a three-time EuroLeague champion and Final Four MVP, scored 14 points and now has a total of 4,923 points.
As a result, he surpassed fellow EuroLeague legend Juan Carlos Navarro (4,921 points) to become the all-time leading scorer in the history of the European Club Championship (1958 onwards).
For their part, the “Reds’ came back from a 16-point deficit in the first quarter (30-14) and outscored their opponents 49-67 to claim the win.
Giorgos Printezis scored the game-winner in the final seconds and helped his team earn its second straight EuroLeague win.
The Greeks improved to 7-5, whereas the Serbians dropped to 4-9.
ALBA Berlin decimated Fenerbahce at home (89-63) and extended its winning streak to three games.
The Germans led from start to finish and cruised to the victory, whereas the Turks lost for the fifth time in the last six EuroLeague games.

With Shane Larkin tying the game (74-74), Prepelic was the one that said the final word and handed the Spaniards a big home win.
Valenca maintained a top four push and improved to 8-5. On the other hand, Efes fell outside the playoff zone, at 7-6.
