Mohamed Abukar released by Lukoil

Mohamed Abukar (208 cm, San Diego State’06) has been released by Lukoil Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-NBL) after the club’s first 13 contests. In six EuroCup games Abukar contributed 13.8 points per game and in the seven contests the club played in the Bulgarian league he dropped in 14.3 points per game. He started his professional career in 2007 when he went undrafted in the 2007 NBA draft he headed to Italy and joined Tisettanta Cantu who were competing in the Italian SerieA. Over the last three and a half seasons he was with the Lugano Tigers (Switzerland-LNA) where he led the Swiss LNA in scoring two seasons in a row and led the first round of the 2010-11 EuroChallenge in scoring with 20.8ppg.
