Mirko Djeric, 17 year old Australian, brought in by Partizan

Mirko DjericMirko Djeric, one of the world’s most intriguing U17 guards, has been invited for a try out by Partizan Belgrade.

The parents of Mirko Djeric are from Serbia, but Djeric himself was born in Australia and plays for the Australian U17 national team. At the last U17 World Championship in Lithuania, Mirko Djeric was the 2nd best passer with an average of 5.6 assists per game. Australia won silver at the event and Mirko Djeric made a name for himself when he hit seven three-pointers against Croatia.

Partizan has seems to shy away from seasoned veterans this season and instead has been trying out young talented players from countries like Mexico, Argentina and Malta. There is no shortage of interested candidates since Partizan has a long tradition of developing young players. Belgrade is also often referred to as the Basketball capital of the world.
