Mike Brown fired as Lakers coach after 1-4 start

Mike Brown

After a winless pre-season and a 1-4 start to the regular season, the LA Lakers have dumped head coach Mike Brown. Word has been going around that the Lakers were looking to evaluate Brown over the next six games as the Lakers returned home for a home stand, but after a series of meetings over the last couple of days management decided that it was time to cut their losses and move on sooner than later.

Brown’s decision to implement the Princeton offense over the summer has come under fire for not being the right set for the talent and personnel the Lakers have, specifically superstars Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash. Chances are the new coach will step in and shake things up with a new strategy.

Assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff will lead the squad tonight against the Golden State Warriors. A decision hasn’t been made on who will replace Brown going forward.
