Metta World Peace back with the Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers and Metta World Peace (201 cm, St. John’s’99) have agreed to terms on a one-year non-guaranteed deal. Metta, who was part of the Lakers’ 2010 championship winning team, has continued his career abroad since departing the franchise. He began the 2014/15 season playing in China for the Sichuan Blue Whales (China-CBA) where he played 15 games and produced averages of 19.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg. He left the team in December 2014. In March 2015 Metta signed with Acqua Vitasnella Cantu of the Italian Serie A. He played 13 games for them and averaged 13.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg.
