Lithuania took home the Men U20 European Championship in 2012.

The FIBA Europe Men U20 European Championship are set to open competition on Tuesday, July 9 in Tallinn, Estonia with 20 national teams looking to bring the title back home after the title game on July 21.

Teams from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Ukraine have been divided into four, five-team groups and will start play Tuesday within their groups. Each club will play the other four teams in their group one time with the top three teams of each five-team group moving on to the second round. In the second round, each team will play the three teams from the other first round group that make the second round group (Group A and Group B come together to make up Group E, Group C and Group D come together to make up Group F). After those three games are played the top four teams in Groups E and F make up the quarter-finals with the top team in Group E playing the fourth place team in Group F, the second place team in Group E playing the third place team in Group F, the second place team in Group F playing the third place team in Group E and the top team in Group F playing the fourth place team in Group E. The winners will move on to the semi-finals, the winners of the semis play for the European Championship on July 21st.
