Matthew Gibson heads to France

Matthew Gibson (196 cm, Hawaii’08) has agreed to terms with ESSM Le Portel Cote d’Opale from France’s ProB and is slated to join them in 2013-14.

Gibson spent the 2012-13 season playing in Finland’s Korisliiga for Lappeenranta NMKY. He logged 42 games for the them and averaged an impressive 20.5 ppg and 5.1 apg. On defense he was also equally competent with an average of 2.2 spg.

In 2012 he played for Garra Canera de Navolato from Mexico’s CIBACOPA. In 30 games in the Mexican league Gibson put up averages of 18.4 ppg and 3.4 apg.
