Marcel Jones parts ways with Cantu

Marcel Jones (203 cm, Oregon State’08) has left Pallacanestro Cantu from Italy’s Serie A. The 25-year-old American player also holds a New Zealand passport. Marcel is reportedly headed back to New Zealand. Jones joined Cantu to start the 2013-14 season and he managed to play 16 games in the Eurocup for the team. He was able to average 6.3 ppg and 3.3 rpg. Jones also logged a total of 25 games in the Italian Serie A for Cantu and there he produced averages of 3.4 ppg and 1.4 rpg.

In 2013 the player was on the roster of the Telecom Business Hub Jets (New Zealand-NBL) where he played a dozen games and averaged 20.9 ppg and 7.5 rpg.
