Malik Cooke signs with Newcastle Eagles

Malik Cooke (198 cm, South Carolina’12) will get a taste of the United Kingdom’s BBL this 2013-14 season as he joins the Newcastle Eagles. Cooke had a bumpy start to his 2012-13 season. He started off by trying out for BBC Monthey (Switzerland-LNA), but then in November 2012 signed with the Eerie BayHawks from the NBA D-League. Malik only lasted until the pre-season with them. Finally, in January 2013, he landed with TV 1862 Langen from Germany’s ProB league. He managed to play 14 games for Langen and averaged 16.8 ppg and 4.5 rpg. Cooke helped his club reach the German 2 Bundesliga ProB semifinals in 2013.
