Levski Lukoil won on the road yesterday, beating Rilski Sport 84-69. Consequently, they won the best of seven final series 4-1 and claimed the Bulgarian title. The last time Levski Lukoil was the champion of Bulgaria was in 2018, and before that, they had won it 18 times. However, most of those titles are from very long ago. Yesterday’s victory marks the fifth title in this century.
Opposing team Rilski had the home-court advantage and had also won the regular season with a 22-2 record, followed by Levski Lukoil in second place with 20-4. None of that mattered in the final series. Levski Lukoil dominated from the start of the series. In yesterday’s game, they had a 22-2 run, and after that, Rilski could not bounce back.
