Lafayette joins Zalgiris, Juskevicius returns

Zalgiris Kaunas completed its roster for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague season by inking combo guard Oliver Lafayette and swingman Adas Juskevicius on Friday night. Lafayette arrives from Anadolu Efes Istanbul, to which he helped to reach the Turkish League finals last season. He averaged 8.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals in 6 Euroleague games with Efes. Lafayette started the 2011-12 season with Asseco Prokom Gdynia, where he averaged 10.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 10 Euroleague games off the bench. He had joined Prokom last summer from Maccabi Ashdod, where he averaged 10.5 points and 2.9 assists in 11 Israeli League games. He started the 2010-11 season with Partizan mt:s Belgrade and tallied 8.5 points and 3.3 assists in 6 Euroleague games. Lafayette joined Fort Wayne in the NBA Development League before signing for Ashdod. He has also played for Erie Bay in the D-League, Boston in the NBA and Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Vaqueros de Agua Prieta in Mexico. He also played college basketball for the University of Houston. Juskevicius re-signed his contract until the end of the 2013-14 season. He was sent on loan to Rudupis, where he averaged 8.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 6 Eurocup games last season. Juskevicius has also played for Kaunas Triobet. His last season with Zalgiris was 2009-10, helping it to win the Baltic League. Juskevicius is also a member of the Lithuanian national team. He helped Lithuania to reach the 2008 U20 European Championships final and get a bronze medal at the 2009 U20 European Championships. Juskevicius also won the Nike International Junior Tournament with Zalgiris in 2007, averaging 11 points and 5.3 assists.
