Kyle Hines hit by flare during Greek Cup

Kyle Hines injured during Greek cup finalKyle Hines (198 cm, North Carolina Greensboro’08) was injured during the Final of the Greek cup between his team Olympiakos and Panathinaikos, the numbers one and two of the Greek Championship. Together they have won four out of the last six Euroleague titles. The fans of the two clubs were on opposite sides of the gym and started to shoot flames at each other before the game started. One of those projectiles hit Olympiakos player Kyle Hines in the head. Hines suffered some burn wounds and part of his hair was torched but he returned to the court and played. However, the referee stopped the game in the 2nd quarter with a 26-17 lead for Panathinaikos, after the players started to push and shove each other on the court and Panathinaikos player Mike Bramos was hit in the head by a rock. At that moment, the fans exploded and the riot police had to come into action. The referee stopped the game and sent both teams back to the locker rooms. The game resumed again after part of the stands had been cleared. In an almost empty gym Panathinaikos dominated the game and won by 81-78.
