Koszarek inks deal with Asseco Prokom
Asseco Prokom Gydnia added experience and shooting range to its backcourt by inking point guard Lukasz Koszarek to a two-year deal on Monday. Koszarek (1.87 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Trefl Sopot, where he averaged 15.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists in 49 Polish League games last season. He helped Sopot to make it to the Polish League finals, losing against Prokom. Koszarek led Sopot to lift the Polish Cup trophy last season, earning MVP honors. He has also played for Caserta in Italy, as well as Anwil, Turow, Polonia Warszawa and SMS Warka in his native Poland. Koszarek is also a regular member of the Polish national team. “Lukasz is already an experience player that must try his luck in the Euroleague,” Prokom sports director Walter Jeklin said. “Playing in the Euroleague was always one of his dreams and now he will have the chance to reach that goal.”
