Kobe Bryant to be posthumously inducted into Hall of Fame in May 2021

The late Kobe Bryant’s induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame will take place in May 2021, the NBA announced over the weekend.

This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony, which was to take place in August, was postponed due to the global pandemic.

Along with Bryant, the 2020 Hall of Fame class includes all-time greats Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, as well as former Houston Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich and five others. The names were revealed in April.

Los Angeles Lakers legend Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash on Jan. 26. He was 41.

Bryant played his entire 20-year NBA career with the Lakers, winning five championships. He was an 18-time All-Star. He retired in 2016.
