Kevin Seraphin announces retirement

Veteran big man Kevin Seraphin, who played for FC Barcelona from 2017-19, is retiring due to a knee injury.

The 30-year-old made the annoucement on Saturday.

Seraphin helped FC Barcelona capture the Copa del Rey trophy in February 2019 in a 94-93 triumph over rival Real Madrid.

He did not play during the 2019-20 campaign because of the knee injury. He did, however, make solid contributions in his two seasons with FC Barcelona.

Kevin Seraphin, who was born in Cayenne, French Guiana, was the 17th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The Chicago Bulls drafted him, but he actually began his NBA career elsewhere. The Bulls traded him to the Washington Wizards on draft night.

He spent seven seasons in the NBA, playing for the Wizards (2010-15, New York Knicks (2015-16), and Indiana Pacers (2016-17). In his NBA career, Seraphin averaged a career-best 9.1 points per game in the 2012-13 season.

In seven NBA seasons, Seraphin averaged 5.9 points and 3.5 rebounds in 423 games.
