Kamil Novak Named Secretary General of FIBA Europe
Kamil Novak, Sports Director of the Fraport Skyliners, was announced as the new Secretary General of FIBA Europe this morning by the Fraport Skyliners. The decision to appoint Novak was made on Saturday by the FIBA Europe Executive Committee. The organization has been without a Secretary General since May when the Executive Committee ousted Nar Zanolin.
Novak has been the Sports Director for the Skyliners for the past seven years, but has been associated with the club for ten years.
In their statement, Gunner Wobke, managing partner of the Skyliners, congratulated Novak for his appointment and stated that the club had been encouraging Novak to pursue the opportunity with FIBA. He also stated that due to a number of issues, they wouldn’t be replacing Novak immediately and that he would be taking on Novak’s responsibilities.
Novak thanked the club and Wobke for 10 years of support and that the appointment to Secretary General of FIBA Europe is a “great honor” and a challenge at the same time.
Jan Pommer, managing director of the German BBL, weighed in on the announcement by congratulating Novak and stating that the BBL and the Skyliners can be proud of the fact that the man in one of the most important positions in European basketball came from them.
There has been no official word from FIBA Europe on the appointment.

couldn’t bear him as a player, hope he’ll do great anyway.
Good for FIBA
Good for hem, he deserves a careermove like this I assume.
Great guy. I wish him all the luck!!!
Amazing career for the player!!! Didn’t notice too much success at his Skyliners position as Sports Director, but he was one of the trailblazers of his country for basketball achievments.
Good man..
