Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180 cm, CS Fullerton’09) has agreed to terms on a deal that makes a new member of the Jilin Northeast Tigers (China-CBA). Josh is a 29-year-old Nigerian-American player who was a former member of the Nigerian national team in 2006 and 2009. Akognon is no stranger to Chinese hoops. In fact, he began the 2014-15 season on the roster of the Foshan Long Lions (China-CBA). He played 35 games for the Foshan Long Lions and was able to record averages of 31.9 ppg and 3.3 rpg.
Later in the season Josh moved to Serbian club BC Partizan NiS Beograd (Serbia-KLS). He played six games for them in the Adriatic league and averaged 10.5 ppg and 1.5 rpg. He also played a single game in the domestic Serbian league and was able to score 11 points and hand out a couple of assists.
