Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180 cm, CS Fullerton’09) has been added to strengthen the roster of Saski Baskonia Vitoria (Spain-Liga Endesa) this 2016-17. Akognon 30-year-old Nigerian-American player who has been a member of the Nigerian national team since 2006. His 2015-16 season began playing in Asia for the Jilin Northeast Tigers (China-CBA), a team he signed with in December 2015. Josh played 32.5 ppg and 5.4 rpg in 22 games for the Tigers. In February 2016 Akognon took his game to Europe after landing a deal with Banco di Sardegna Sassari (Italy-Serie A). He managed to play 14 games for the Italian club and averaged 14.9 ppg and 1.4 rpg.
