Jose Manuel Calderon opts for Dallas

Jose Manuel Calderon
Jose Manuel Calderon (191 cm) has reached an agreement with the Dallas Mavericks for a fully guaranteed four year contract worth $29 million. The Spanish guard had also received offers from the Sacramento Kings and the Detroit Pistons, who he played with last season. However, the free agent chose the Mavericks because of the long term deal and the stability that it brings.

Jose Manuel Calderon was traded to the Detroit Pistons from the Toronto Raptors in January and the 31-year old averaged 11.3 points and 7.1 assists over 45 games for both franchises. His arrival at the Mavericks will mark his third franchise after he played with the Raptors for seven seasons before joining the Pistons.
