Jose Calderon headed to Lakers

Jose Calderon The Los Angeles Lakers are acquiring veteran Spanish point guard Jose Calderon from the Chicago Bulls. No other active players are involved in the deal. The Lakers are likely giving up the draft rights to a player or a number of players who were drafted in the past. The 35-year-old Calderon is currently on the last year of a contract where he is set to receive $7.7 million. The Lakers have been quiet in free agency so far and Calderon looks to be a reserve behind their young backcourt of D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson. The Bulls received Calderon from the New York Knicks in a trade that sent former MVP Derrick Rose to NY.
