Joey Dorsey (206 cm, Memphis ’08) is making the move to play with Best Balikesir Basketball (Turkey-BSL). Dorsey last played in Turkey with Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (Turkey-BSL) in 2015/2016 and was very productive. He averaged 7.5ppg with 7.3rpg and 0.8 bpg in just 18.1 mpg which led him to be voted to the league all-star game. The American big man played with FC Barcelona (Spain-Liga Endesa) last season as well but just for 11 games. He left Galatasaray after the end of the year and then made a return to Barcelona last offseason. This marked the third time Dorsey joined Barcelona since the 2013/2014 season. Barcelona then decided to cut ties with Dorsey last month. Balikesir will look for Dorsey to provide a veteran presence as well as improve the team’s post defense. Currently, the team is near the bottom of the BSL with a 3-15 record.
