Joey Dorsey leaving Olympiacos for NBA

Joey DorseyJoey Dorsey (203 cm, Memphis’08) has announced that he will be leaving returning Euroleague and Greece A1 champion Olympiacos effectively immediately and has worked out a contract termination with the club. With NBA rosters being cut to the league maximum 15 this week for the season opener coming next week, the timing is good for him if a team is looking for a solid rebounder and shot blocker. He still holds the NCAA Conference USA’s career record for total rebounds at 1,209 (NCAA 10th all-time) while he was with the University of Memphis, is second on the list of career games played at 149 (NCAA 7th all-time), and 3rd in career shots blocked with 264. He had joined Olympiacos in January and resigned with the squad through the 2013-14 season. Prior to that he spent the previous three seasons in the NBA, where Dorsey played in a total of 61 games for Houston, Sacramento and Toronto. Dorsey averaged 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 42 NBA games with Toronto in 2010-11. Previously, Dorsey helped Memphis reach the 2007 NCAA final four.

Last year great addition and surprise of the winning F4 for Olympiakos. An underdog.
