Joel Berry III to try his luck overseas and starts in Turkey

Joel Berry III (183 cm, G) has given up the NBA chase and will now finally try to make some money as a pro overseas. He just reached an agreement with Besiktas from Turkey.

As a teenager, Joel Berry III was seen as a superstar prospect. He played in the Highschool McDonald’s All-American game and participated in the NIKE Hoop Summit, representing Team USA.

Every college powerhouse in the country recruited him, and in the end, he chose the Tarheels of the University of North Carolina. In his four years there, he did live up to the hype. He averaged 17.1 ppg and 3.2 aspg in his senior year and was a 1st Team All-Conference selection.

Then came the cold shower, as no NBA team drafted him. Joel Berry III didn’t give up but tried to get on an NBA roster via the G League, but that didn’t work out either. Now he is making his debut in Europe, and that in one of the strongest leagues on the continent. Good luck!
