Jimmy Baron links with Fuenlabrada

Jimmy Baron (191 cm, Rhode Island’09) will return to the Spanish top flight after signing a deal to play for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada this season. The guard spent last season on the court of Virtus Roma, where he played 38 games in Italy’s Serie A and averaged 11.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He also helped Roma during the clubs’ Eurocup campaign, playing ten games and logging 13.5 points and 2.1 boards per contest.

A seasoned player, Jimmy Baron is well travelled in the European game and before moving to Virtus he played for Russian outfit Lokomotiv Kuban during the 2012/2013 season. It was a busy campaign too as the American played the Russian PBL, the VTB League, and Eurocup. In the VTB League that season Baron showed stats of 9.8 points and 2.1 rebounds over his sixteen appearances.

Jimmy Baron is no stranger to Spanish Basketball as he wore the jersey of Lago Aro Gipuzkoa in the ACB during the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 seasons. His previous experience has meant the 28-year old has also played in Turkey and his native USA since leaving Rhode Island in 2009.
